Oh and let’s not forget Jake…like we ever could!
I don’t remember the last time that I was so taken in and all consumed by a series of books or characters. Unless you count that brief period of mourning when they killed off Catherine on the Beauty and the Beast T.V. series. And… if you can call six months brief.
Forbidden duel world love affair … secret underground city beneath the streets of New York.
Does sci-fi get any better?
I still can’t believe they off’d her. It was a very black time for me.
But low and behold…and looky here, sci-fi has done restored my faith once more!
And obsessed does not even begin to cover this one!
Not surprisingly, I have yet to meet anyone who has read these books that was like ‘uh yeah, they’re o.k.’ or ‘those books sucked yo’
These books breed addiction! Pure cult-like attraction for these out-of-this-world and every-world characters that will not be denied!
We’re not hurting anyone. There are no mass suicides. Nobody’s shaving any heads.
But in case you haven’t noticed, most boys don’t get it.
My husband by proxy will now reluctantly stand in for all the boys on this point:
“The Underworld now that was a movie” insert big cheesy chest puff here. “These vampires are nothing but a bunch of sappy ass wannabes. All’s I know is that if I don’t see someone’s head being chopped off in the first five minutes, the movie has to suck” now add loud snort to retarded chest puff “And what’s that vamp doing out during the day anyway?”
“There’s no direct sunlight or else he would sparkle” God, doesn’t he know anything?
“Well do they fly at least?”
“Kind of and Edward reads minds…except for Bella’s of course. And Alice sees the future and…”
“How weak! What do you guys get out of all this? What’s the big deal? It’s just a dumb movie!”
“Oh really? Exactly what time are the Yankees coming over to deliver your portion of their proceeds you screaming fan freak?”
Don’t worry guys; there was no bloodshed… this time. Although that would have blended in nicely with our theme don’t ya think? But I, like Edward, have restraint.
I have never been ready to love a movie more! And I am dying to see it!
Dying, Dying, Dying I say!
How about you bloggy sisters? Spill the blood! Let me hear it!
Before the movie. After the movie. Anytime! That’s what good obsession is for!!!
And for those not yet-bitten bloggy sisters…can I possibly sway you over to the obsessive side? Please!!! Please!!!!

eh. I liked the books. I liked the first movie. I am eagerly waiting for the second movie. But I am not obsessed and I have to say that the vampires are kind of cheesy. Sparkles? I have issues with that. But the story is good and Jacob is HAWT. I do sometimes want to smack Bella upside the head though. BUT.... Jacob? HAWT.
I have not gone there yet because I just don't have the time for another obsession. I'll wait til it builds up a bit more and then my obsessive personality can take it all in at once and not have to wait for the next installment.
Not there... I have several friends that are very there obsessed. I'm too scared to venture out... then I wouldn't have time to blog!
Oh no! I wonder whether our love for each other will suffer 'cause I have no love for the glittering kind of vampires... Oh say it ain't so! I figure I could only be obsessed with one type of vampires, and since the other series of books contain ACTUAL SEX scenes, LOTS OF THEM, I gobbled them up while on the beach last summer. (Sitting between my MIL and PIL if you could even imagine how weird that was...) I still love you.
I'm afraid to read just one.
I am sooooo addicted! I am going to the midnight showing! I just feel all dirty and kind of like an old man checking out little girls. Is it right for me to be so obsessed? Aw the hell with it I just love it tooooo much!
Team Edward!
Tawnia
I have added you in links. Hope you can link me up too. Thank You and God Bless!
It is taking all my self control to NOT buy tickets for the midnight showing. I'm pretending I'm all cool and aloof but inside it's all OMG EDWARD!!!! It's enough to make me pine for a Trapper Keeper featuring those yellow eyes.
Totally going to see it next week but am waiting for MIL to get in town. Team JACOB! To the Absence of Alternatives.... I love the sexy vampires where you get actual real sex in the books better too. But Twilight is just a good read. The Anita Blake books rock my world.
I can't wait!!!!....have I mentioned that I'm obsessed?
Why am I so resistant? Why?
I'm pretty sure I am the only female not caught up in the Twilight phenomenon. I haven't read the books or seen the movies. Don't know why, I just haven't. Last vampire book I read was an Anne Rice one, same for movie, and well, it didn't do much for me. On the other hand the movie I am dying, dying, dying to see is 2012. Yeah, I know it got the old Sucko from critics but I love watching the world destroyed and to see Lloyd Dobbler as the hero, well it just doesn't get any better. I wonder if they use In Your Eyes in the soundtrack?
So, is now a good time to say I've never read a single on of those books?...

I'm going to see the movie but not on opening night. I hope it doesn't disappoint.
Dear Mrs. B, I am so glad our love is too strong to be torn asunder by glittering vampires. As one of the PPs said, God bless. Assuming God does not frown upon two women professing love to each other nor upon vampires.
I read the first one, wasn't all the enraptured by it, but have vowed to give it another try. I was however, very into the Harry Potter books and cried like a baby when it was over. I really wanted it to go on and on....
and i'm 44 years old. lol...
All obessed and sparkly inside :) I dream of another book series so capitvating as this one. *sigh*
I haven't read the books yet...YET I promise I will LOL I have to say though my hubby really enjoyed the first movie, and we're looking forward to seeing New Moon :)
2 of my favorite series of books are "The Wheel of Time" by Robert Jordan and "Sword of Truth" by Terry Goodkind. I haven't read the entire series yet (there's 12-15 books in each series ALL of them are big books, long reads). The stories are intricate, the character development is just amazing - once you start reading them it's hard to put them down.
On my bucketlist: re-read both series in entirety one book after the other LOL YEAH like I'll ever get that done in the near future with a 2.5 year old and 7 month old HAHA
Have a great day! Love your blog keep it up!
I too am obsessed.... cannot wait!!
blogged about it....

ok, i have got to get on this train. i am ashamed to admit it, but i have NOT read the books and i have NOT seen the movie. my daughter is three and doesn't care about anyone but max and ruby and my two sons...well, they're boys. so...i have had no proper influence in my life. BUT i am tired of reading blogs about edward and not knowing wth it's all about! should i start with the books or just go rent the first movie?
Oh my gosh, girl! You are hysterical! You have so read my mind and emptied the contents of my addiction here. (Oh--sorry. I'm visiting from MBC. I'm not a stalker.)
Loved your site--picking up your link now. Thanks for the good'ole belly laugh. :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Twilight Saga!! I can NOT wait to see the movie.. I was talking to the hubby this morning about it and go teary eyed.. I'm not sure if it was because it's THAT TIME of the month.. or I am just so invested into these books and movies... He just thinks it's funny because they were meant for teens but I am WELL past that!! LOL You are right, guys just don't get it!!!!
~Angela
Alright...i'll admit...i saw the movie once, so now I'm going to rent it again, really watch it and see what all the excitement is about. lol

I am so jealous of everyone that is going to the midnight showing - I would never be able to stay awake that late (-: I might have to wait for a Saturday matinee ! Well, I've waited this long.
Go Team Edward!!!
I am going to have to make time to read these books. I used to love reading vampire books, like Anne Rice, but then got bored. I'm going back. :)
My boyfriend refused to bite me.
I so loved the books. I read them in record time. But I hated the movie. Just didn't live up to what I expected.
Boys totally don't get this! My husband thinks the whole twilight thing is nonsense. I tried to explain there were vampires and werewolves and shapeshifters involved but he just gave me a withering look and walked away. What does he know!?
I've read the books, am currently reading the first to my teenage daughters for fun. My 17 yo son will wander in and listen for a while but then he starts smirking or squeals, "Oh, Edward" in a falsetto voice and wanders out. The girls just laugh.
Bella pines a bit too much for our family's taste I guess. Though we are enjoying it.
Indeed i must see that movie. Hello wuz here to visit you. god bless
I am usually 2 years behind on everything... So it's a love story, then? With Vampires? I am so clueless...
happy sunday!wondering if you can find time to visit me..
New Moon is so good!! Went to the midnight showing, with Twilight right before... Have plans to see it tonight and while the girls are in school on Tuesday! Ahhh.... Obsession.
TEAM Jacob all the way. As a divorced woman I look at Edward at the "bad boy" because he is posessive of her and practically wants to wear her skin he is so obsessed. Jacob wants her, but he lets her be. Besides, that russet-skinned wereboy is way more HAWT than the pasty white, red-lipped sparkly vampboy. P.S. Why are sparkling vampires an less spectactular than those don't? I think it's a fabulous idea. Thanks for sharing.
I am also OBSESSED with this whole saga. Lucky for me I hadn't heard of the books until all four were already out. So when I got them, I got all of them. I read each one back to back in a week. I just couldn't put it down. I haven't seen New Moon yet, but I really want to. My husband doesn't give me a hard time about it, but he doesn't understand it either. He does think sparkly vampires are pansies. To him vampires are suppose to be like Blade.
I don't know how you found me but...TOTALLY OBSESSED!!!! Did I say TOTALLY and COMPLETELY and UNASHAMEDLY!!!!!!
